“This year’s show was a complete success,” said Morris Murdock’s president Becky Potts. “We had more vendors, more show attendees, and our travel reservation center was packed all day long, both days. It was incredible to see the turn out, the sheer numbers of visitors who were there to find the vacation of their dreams.”
The 2008 Morris Murdock Travel Show was attended by 3,000 people. The 2009 event marked a 25% increase in attendance with just over 4,500 attendees.
“It was great to see the smiles of all the show visitors,” said Vanessa Christensen, show coordinator for Morris Murdock Travel. “Despite our concerns about the economy affecting travel, the show was packed. From families heading to Disneyland, honeymooners booking a trip to Italy, or couples looking to cruise Alaska, the smiles on their faces made all our hard work and planning worth it.”
Visitors to the show were able to talk with representatives from nearly 70 travel vendors from around the world including Princess Cruises, Holland America, Funjet Vacation, Trafalgar Tours, and Royal Caribbean who offered exclusive rates to show attendees.
The two-day show also offered free destination and product seminars by industry experts, hourly prize giveaways, exclusive vacation deals, and live entertainment provided by Disney Street Dancers, the Utah Jazz bear, a Mariachi band, the musical troupe On Stage Alaska, and special “Deal or No Deal” with former journalist Dick Nourse. travel presentations on the main stage.
